Policies of the Health IT Workforce Training Program (Please Read Carefully Before Continuing):

  1. Students who complete the Health IT workforce role within six months of the start date will receive a stipend of $300.00 upon completion of the role, until the stipends are expended.
  2. Federal stipends are only available for one Health IT workforce role per student. Students electing to complete more than one Health IT workforce role will not be eligible for additional stipends.
  3. Students are encouraged to sit for the HIT PRO National Competency Exam. (First 27,500 exams are free to students - available beginning in May 2011).
  4. Students must abide by NPC policies including academic honesty and student responsibilities.
  5. Students must have knowledge of basic computer software applications such as Word, Excel, and email for this online program. Access to High Speed Internet is greatly encouraged.
  6. In order to successfully complete a Health IT workforce role, it is estimated that students will need to spend a minimum of 10-15 hours per week completing assignments, readings, and exams.
  7. Only applications with required supporting documents will be processed.
  8. Submit a copy of relevant Transcripts and/or Resumes.
  9. Payment is due within 5 business days upon notification of acceptance to the program.
  10. Applications will be reviewed and acceptance is dependent on experience and educational background. Students will be notified by email of status once application is processed.
  11. Application requirements are subject to change without notice.
  12. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States to qualify for the Health IT workforce training program.

Trainer (IT): This Health IT workforce role is aids in the design and delivery of training programs, using adult learning principles, to employees in the clinical and public health settings.

Trainer (HealthCare): This Health IT workforce role is aids in the design and delivery of training programs, using adult learning principles, to employees in the clinical and public health settings.

Practice Workflow and Information Management Redesign Specialist (IT): This Health IT workforce role assists in reorganizing workflow and operations to take full advantage of health information technology in pursuit of "meaningful use" and to improve general health and quality of care.

Practice Workflow and Information Management Redesign Specialist (HealthCare): This Health IT workforce role assists in reorganizing workflow and operations to take full advantage of health information technology in pursuit of "meaningful use" and to improve general health and quality of care.

Clinician/Practitioner Consultant: This Health IT workforce role is similar to the "Practice workflow and Information Management Redesign Specialist" role listed above. In addition, this role brings to bear the background and experience of a professional licensed to provide clinical care or a public healthcare professional.

Implementation Manager (HealthCare): This Health IT workforce role provides on-site management of mobile adoption support teams before and during implementation of health IT systems.
