Institutional Services Assistant

National Park College is currently seeking a full time Custodian/Institutional Services Assistant.  Position requires employee to work evenings.  This full time position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.  This is a state classified position C103 with a starting salary of $16,288 plus shift differential and outstanding benefits.

Responsibilities:  Position is responsible for general cleaning of areas in and around office buildings, class rooms, lecture halls, conference rooms, auditoriums, dining areas, building common areas, bathrooms, and other areas as required.  Typical responsibilities also include removing trash from waste baskets, dumping trash, sanitizing and relining trash receptacles as required.   Also included in job duties is the cleaning of furniture, such as desk tops, tables and other surfaces as well as sweeping, moping, and buffing floors, and vacuuming floors daily along with cleaning bathroom fixtures and restocking restrooms.  Other duties will be assigned to be performed as needed. 

Position requires knowledge of basic cleaning techniques, cleaning equipment operation and equipment maintenance and an ability to follow instructions and perform repetitive manual work.  The ability to work independently without close supervision and follow oral and/or written instructions is essential.  The successful applicant must have the ability to perform multiple tasks and to prioritize assignments as well as do required lifting (up to 50 lbs).

Minimum qualifications:  The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; two years of experience in custodial services.
