Single Parent Scholarship Fund Advisory
Council of Garland County Awards Fall 2009 Scholarships

The Single Parent Scholarship Fund Advisory Council of Garland County awarded ten $500 scholarships for the fall 2009 semester.  Any single parent residing in Garland County, continuing their education at any two or four year college, may apply for this scholarship no
later than June 30 for the fall semester and November 30 for the spring semester.

Scholarships are awarded through the Advisory Council, the scholarship office of National Park Community College, and the NPCC Foundation, Inc. The amount of awards given are dependent on available funds that the council has raised through fundraising activities, grants, and private Single Parent Scholarshipdonations.  The NPCC Student Art Show and Sale every spring benefits the fund thanks to donations from the art department students.  This past June, the art show and sale was extended to an evening during Gallery Walk at Mountain Valley Water in historic downtown Hot Springs. Single Parent Scholarship This year, the GCSPSF received a sub-grant award of $925.  Along with the sub-grant, the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund provided a matching grant award totaling $1,850.
